Program Productions

Passion in Focus: Matt

Matt is Program Productions’ Production Manager. He oversees equipment and the professionals who operate it, making sure both are top-notch quality.

One of his favorite memories (and proudest accomplishments) was tech managing Farm Aid 30 in 2015, headlined by his hero, Neil Young. A benefit for agriculture, Farm Aid was a downtown Chicago concert playing at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion. It was no small occasion: the bill also featured Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Jack Johnson, Imagine Dragons, and other high profile acts.

Setting up equipment for a big venue full of big stars was a challenge to be sure, but it stood no chance against Program Productions’ passion. Matt and his crew came in early and stayed late, running cable and running the show. The concert was a smash success, and the client was thrilled with the Program Productions team.

Good work for a good cause proved to be a good time, too. Matt always makes several circuits of the venue, to survey the scene and guarantee the success of an event. On Matt’s final walk-around, he ran into his hero; Neil Young himself. Matt got to talk to him, and even watch his performance from backstage.

“I couldn’t have asked for much more out of a job from that day forth,” laughs Matt.

We couldn’t have asked for much more from such a passionate team member.
